Mercury Retro and the Rail Strike in Germany

While Mercury turned retrograde in the early hours of this morning, the train drivers of German Railways “Deutsche Bahn AG” went on strike last night, disrupting the regional rail travel all across Germany. They want to emphazise their demand for higher pay, for which they are fighting for about 5 month now already, having begun while Mercury was retrograde in the middle of June 2007.
The strike today started at 2 o’clock in the morning and is supposed to last until midnight.
The train drivers’ union GLD (Gewerkschaft Deutscher Lokführer) has it’s main office in Frankfurt/Main, while the “Deutsche Bahn AG” has it’s head office in Berlin.
Mercury was right on the IC for Berlin, when the strikes began. It can be found in Paran with Capulus at both places, if one takes the paran-orb a little wider than usual. Capulus is circumpolar, and according to Bernadette Brady’s Starlight software, it’s meaning has to do with expressing oneself in a confronting manner.
Neptune, which is concerned with social issues, was at the DC for that moment. In Frankfurt it can be found in Paran with Alphard and Sirius, so it adds intense and at times violent emotions to the whole issue and assures that this strike does not pass unheard or unseen.
Looking at Uranus, where change, protest and strike against established norms and rules can be found, in Berlin one sees it in exact Paran with Alhena, “the Proudly Marching One”. There the German Railways Company this time was not able to inhibit the strike by (contended) means which it had formerly used.

Interesting.. because the UK Royal Mail has been on strike also… clearly there is a “strike” vib to this retrograde Mercury. I also like your paran examples - Mercury with Capulus is going to be fairly confronting - a nice bit of mundane work.
This Mercury retrograde is also sitting fairly clear of any constellations at the moment but it will - when it goes direct - travel through “the Gate Keepers” (the scales of Libra) which I always think is an interesting time for newstories.
On a personally note - not related to stars - I tend to like retrograde Mercury as I get a lot of jobs out of the way - I use them for clearing my desk so to speak.
