Pakistan

Written on December 28, 2007 by Cornelia

Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been assassinated yesterday in Rawalpindi, while the Moon was in Paran with Algol and Alphard. The tragic event triggered violence and riots across the country, and international concern about the instability of that region, where some people see a civil war already imminent.

Pakistan gained it’s Independence at the same time as did India, on August 15, 1947 at Midnight IST. If one looks at the transits to the horoscope chart for Karachi, the difficutlties of this country can clearly be seen, and they might very well continue for many months more.

Uranus is ruler of the MC, and on January 20, 2008, at 4:35h IST, there will be a Moon-Mars-conjunction taking place right on this Uranus.

If one looks at the skymap of that day, there is El Nath right next to this Moon-Mars-Conjunction. At the same time, the mundane Pluto opposes the Mars of the chart, and Jupiter, which made the same opposition at the time of the assassination, has gone on close to Facies, which also is Heliacal Rising Star for these days.

While El Nath and Facies are stars that bear a very militant and agressive attitude, the Parans of the Moon, which in mundane astrology is associated with “the people”, would talk about luck (Sadalmelek), natural leadership (Regulus)  and a longing for freedom (Capella), if one took the old capital city Karachi.  In the new capital Islamabad the Moon is in Paran with Capella and Alpheraz, which both seek freedom and independence, and with Mirfak, where there is the wish to boldly fight and act, rather than listen to wisdom.

So at that time, there might be some kind of revolution, or a strike against the government, or maybe the government itself is striking hard, but hopefully the Parans of the Moon will then protect the people even in the face of more violence.

Wow, Cornelia, very interesting. I am just struggling to get accurate data. The fixed stars are still a mystery so it’s great to read yours and everyone’s else’s insight on this rather fabulous blog.

What data do you use for Pervez and/or Bhutto? I found one Vedic site that states that she personally gave her information to someone about 20 years (23 June 1953, 4:30pm, Karachi) but then all other sites state 21 June. Which is right? This is the vedic site I found: http://www.journalofastrology.com/article.php?article_id=87

Similarly I found conflicting information for Pervez Musharraf. Almost all of the websites say he was born 11 Aug 1943. But when they found his birth certificate in 2005, it was reported that he was born 22 Jul 1945: http://www.hindu.com/2005/04/18/stories/2005041802952000.htm (he is the younger of two sons). But even his official website doesnt say that.

Lastly, there is another site that says that Pakistan’s time of birth is 9:33am but doesn’t explain where that time came from: http://www.neptunecafe.com/Pakistan.html#anchor_65

Any help on these charts would be much appreciated.

    Dear Catherine,

    thank you for your comment.

    You ask about data.
For Bhutto I found some more days, like 26 June, but the source you mentioned seems the most reliable to me as well.
The data for Pervez Musharraf seems to be obscure as well. I found the same in Lois Roddens Astrodatabank, and since such inaccuracy has happened before, this shows to me only one thing: in countries like these one shoud be more than careful with any official birthdate, and in mundane astrology one has to find other means for delineation.

One could take all these dates and look what the Parans of the stars have to say. From that I would prefer a chart 22 Jul 1945 because of the “Mundan Parans” that are given by the starligt software, and because of the parans of Sun, Jupiter and Saturn. Since both, Jupiter and Saturn, are in Exile in that chart, this might explain why the outcome of his policy produces such a lot of paradox and difficult situations.

You quote a time of birth for Pakistan, which is not explained on that website. Maybe this time has been rectified, or it is the time of a ceremony held on that day?

I took the time “Midnight” from the Book of World Horoscopes by N.Campion, where he quotes the newspaper “Times” of that day.

Anyhow, one has to take into account what happened then: an independent state of Pakistan was part of the negotiations and contract, and there could be no free India without a free Pakistan. The one had to be born together with the other:
This is a quote from Jawaharlal Nehru’s “Speech On the Granting of Indian Independence, August 14, 1947″: “At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.” (Source: http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/mod/1947nehru1.html )

So this states clearly the “Midnight”, and when India gained its formal independence, Pakistan did as well, and ceremonies afterwards I do regard like some sort of “baptism” of a child, but it is not the moment of it’s birth.

I hope this can be helpful.

That’s really helpful, thank you, Cornelia.

    Happy New Year to everyone!
