On this page we will answer questions about how to do different things on the blog.

Placing an image or photo in your message
Putting an image into your blog is a two or three step process. The first step is to create your image.

Preparing your image to put on the blog
There is a good chance that your computer will have some from of image software. I use Photoshop but there are many packages.

If you are working with an photo then open the photo in your image software and reduce its size and resolution - if you make the photo about 350 pixels wide and set it to a resolution of 72dpi. In Photoshop I simply open the photo then select “Image” from the top menu and then select ”Image size” and make the adjustment there. Then I save the image and it is now ready for the blog. 

Making an image of a skymap from Starlight
If I want to place a sky image from Starlight fon the blog then I first open Starlight and open a skymap showing the image that I want. Then I simply hold down the Ctrl key on my keyboard while at the same time push the “Print Screen” key - normally on the upper left of your keyboard. This action paste an image of my entire screen onto my clipboard.

With the screen image on the clipboard I then open Photoshop. I select File/New and with a blank new image I simply hold the Ctrl key down and push the “v” key - which will paste whatever I have on my clip board into the new image in Photoshop. You can also do this by using Edit/Paste on the menu.

I then use the trim tool to cut out the actual skymap image I want from the whole screen image that I have captured from Starlight. Once this image is trimmed I then resize it in the same way as I have discribe for a photo.

Thus the process is:

1) Get image on your screen using Starlight.
2) Ctrl + Print Screen key to paste image of your screen onto your clipboard.
3) Open image software and ask for a new image to be made.
4) Paste image from clip board into new image by using Ctrl +V or selecting Edit/Paste.
5) Edit image to be just the part you want rather then your whole screen.
6) Reduce the size and resolution and save it.

Once your image is ready for the blog the your can go to the next step

Placing your prepared image on the blog

1)  Login to the blog using your name and password.
2) Select “Site Admin” as you do to write a blog or a comment.
3) Select “Write a Post”.
4) Look BELOW the write a post box where you would write your message and you will see another set of boxes labeled “Upload”.
5) Use the browse button to the right of the box labeled “File” to find the image on your computer.

6) Once you have found the image on your computer click the “Upload” button.
7) The screen changes and you will see your image ready to load into your blog - you can select “full size” if you know that the image is not too big. (Click on image to see a screen shot)

8 ) Click “send to editor” and your image will be placed into the top screen were you can then write a message.

 
  9) If you wish you can use the picture edit button - this is the little tree two to the left of the spell checker tick - to add a margin etc to make it look neat.

 10) When you are done then click the Publish button below your post and your text and image will be placed on the blog.Good luck and have a go - after all this is Visual Astrology
