This timetable and lecture schedule can change without notice. Most lectures will have a main speaker, either Bernadette, Darrelyn or Darby. As well for most lectures all three speakers will be contributing.
DAY ONE – Thursday 9th September 2010 - Getting Started
14:00 - 15:00 Registration.
15:00 - 16:30 Welcome by Bernadette, Darrelyn, and Darby.
Lecture 1:The Missing Sky - A consideration of the place of the sky in medieval and contempory culture.
16:30 – 17:00 - Tea and Coffee break
17:00 - 18:30 Lecture 2: Venus - Looking at Venus across cultures.
18:30 - 20:30 Getting to know each other at Sunset Buffet dinner at College - getting our first look at the stars above Santa Fe. (Please note: no alcohol is allowed on the College premises).
DAY TWO – Friday 10th September 2010 - Getting ready for the Sky
9:00 am - Pick up from downtown Santa Fe - morning tea and coffee at the conference.
9:30 – 11:00 - Lecture 3: Origins - the planets. Exploring the planets in their original astrological and astronomical use as part of an emerging sky narrative.
11:00 – 11:30 Morning Tea/Coffee
11:30 – 13:00 Lecture 4: Reading Sky Maps I - Beginning to read natal sky maps by using the idea of planets moving through an ensouled sky.
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch.
14:00 – 15:30 Lecture 5:- Reading Sky Maps II- Beginning to read natal sky maps by using the idea of planets moving through an ensouled sky.
15:30 – 16:00 Afternoon Tea and Coffee.
16:00 - 17:30 Lecture 6: In the Planetarium - Standing inside the Celestial Sphere. Getting your bearings for an evening of sky viewing.
17:30 – 18:30 Back to downtown Santa Fe and getting ready for going to the ranch.
18:45 - Meet for transport to VindHestar Ranch.
19:00 till late - Learning to Star Walk! - Dinner at VindHestar Ranch (BYO wine or beer but we will provide plenty of hot things to drink). Star viewing evening with Bernadette and Darrelyn helping you learn to navigate around the stars.
We expect this to be a late evening and have organised hot drinks for late in the evening, as well as 50 bales of straw for sitting and lying on. You will need warm comfortable clothing and a small torch.
23:00 - 00:00 - Depart Ranch for Santa Fe.
DAY THREE – Saturday 11th September 2010 - Putting it into charts
10:00 am - Pick up from downtown Santa Fe - a later start time to enable you to sleep in after the night of the stars. Morning tea and coffee at the conference.
10:30 – 11:30 Sky Debrief - Sharing the evening experience.
Lecture 7: Getting to know parans. Adding stars to charts.
11:30 - 11:45 Morning Tea/Coffee
11:45 - 13:00 Lecture 8: Stars and Charts I - Reading charts by understanding the sky and star myths underneath different planets.
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch.
14:00 – 15:30 Lecture 9: Stars and Charts II - Reading charts by understanding the sky and star myths underneath different planets. Working with delegate examples.
16:00 – 16:30 Afternoon Tea/Coffee.
16:00 – 17:30 Lecture 10: The Moon - Re thinking the Moon.
17:45 - Lifts back to downtown Santa Fe.
Saturday Evening - Free Evening.
DAY FOUR – Sunday 12th September 2010 - A Day of Practice
9:00 am - Pick up from downtown Santa Fe - morning tea and coffee at the conference site.
9:30 – 11:00 Lecture 11: Star Phases -The different ways that the "fixed" stars move and the role of their phases in shaping theology. The use of star phases in astrology.
11:00 – 11:30 Morning Tea/Coffee
11:30 – 13:00 Lecture 12: Putting it all together - beginning to work as a visual astrologer.
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch.
14:00 – 15:30 Lecture 13 - The Practical Session - working in groups of three reading charts, sky maps and stars.
15:30 – 16:00 Afternoon Tea/Coffee (The practical session may run into the coffee break)
16:00 – 17:30 Lecture 14 Practical Session, discussions, questions and debrief.
17:45 - Lifts back to downtown Santa Fe.
19:00 - 23:30 Optional group gathering at a Santa Fe Restaurant at delegates' own expense. This will be a chance for us all to spend this last night together.
DAY FIVE – Monday 13th September 2010 - Where to from here?
9:00 – 11:00 Lecture 15: Mundane Cycles, Nodes and using Sky Maps to look forward in time.
11:00 – 11:30 Morning Tea/Coffee.
11:30 – 12:30 Lecture 16: Where to from Here? - How to keep working with the sky and keep adding it to your astrology.
12.45: Lifts back to downtown Santa Fe.
